Popis: | 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition / 5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion, 6-10 September 2010, Valencia, Spain; 4470-4474 Efficiency is a key point in the design of the PhotoVoltaic (PV) plant, especially for the inverter connected to the grid. The efficiency of such inverters is defined by its components and the way they are used, meaning the topology. Multi-level topologies might reduce the switching losses by decreasing the switched voltage and the filter needed. These topologies become more and more used in low voltage application such as the inverters connected to the grid. The wide number of different topologies makes the comparison difficult, so this work deals with a generic method to evaluate the efficiency of a multi-level converter. The most known topologies have been compared with Silicon IGBT and diodes and the best number of levels has been defined for each one. Anyway, all the topologies are not equal and the “Stacked Cell” seems to be the best for an efficiency point of view. |
