Measurements of the 16O(p, 2p)15N angular correlation at 45 MeV

Popis: The angular correlation between protons from the ground state 16 O(p, 2p) 15 N reaction, induced by 45 MeV protons, has been measured for protons emitted with equal energies at symmetric, coplanar angles from 20°-20° to 90°-90°. These data were obtained to provide a test for the various procedures used for distorted-wave analysis of (p, 2p) reactions in an energy region where optical-model distortion effects play a dominant role. Comparison is made to previous measurements of the 14 N(p, 2p) 13 C reaction at 45 MeV. The angular distributions are very similar in shape and differ in magnitude by an amount in agreement with the pertinent spectroscopic factors measured in (d, 3 He) pick-up reactions.
