Design of Coupled Inductor Considering Saturation of Core by Leakage Inductance for a 100kW Interleaved Inverter

Popis: This paper is concerned with the design of Coupled Inductors (CIs) in interleaved inverter considering the saturation of core. The magnetic flux of the CIs has two types, the one is the flux generated by mutual inductance, the other is that by leakage inductance. The most flux through the core of inductor is the flux generated by mutual inductance. However, if the inverter has the high capacity, the flux by leakage inductance also increases that causes to saturate the core. To prevent the saturation, the flux generated by mutual inductance and leakage inductance is mathematically analyzed and the number of windings is decided considering the saturation flux density with core. The CIs with the selected core and winding number is verified by the experiments.
