Popis: | The NiCrAlY/B4C/Cenosphere composite coatings were effectively coated on MDN 321 steel. The coating was carried by plasma spray coating method. The studies on the erosive wear behaviour of the composite coatings were carried out at higher temperature of the erodent. The microhardness and coating thickness were recorded for the samples with coating. The microhardness of the coating was increased by 99.18% for the coating with 20% reinforcement of the B4C particles is reported. The erosive wear rate found to be optimum at the particle concentration of 15% of B4C particle. The optical microscopic images of eroded surfaces witness volume loss due to impingement of erodent. The surface roughness of the coating found to influence the erosive wear. The optimum volume loss was found at roughness value of 11.7 μm. |
