Most diseases are interrelated, and the population having multiple diseases is growing rapidly. Our proposed methodology is combining specific features of two technologies which will help in solving the problem faced by victims of diabetes and Parkinson’s. According to the survey, approximately 350–400 million people are suffering from Type 2 diabetes out of which 31% have a greater risk of developing Parkinson’s than people without diabetes. It’s high time to develop a new product which is more efficient and overcomes the shortcomings of the available products. We require medical devices that will cater to multiple health issues, disabilities, and diseases. Our proposed idea is a perfect example of such a device. We propose an idea of a device with miniatured implants and on-body sensors that use the near field communication(NFC) tag. Using this combination, the readings of the parameters will be available on the reader and can thus be transferred to a pump for further action. NFC tags can be fitted into insulin pump and glucometer can wirelessly transfer the information regarding the insulin level in the body, and how much insulin needs to be pumped. For people suffering from hand tremor and Parkinson’s, connecting the device to the body is an arduous task. Lift Laboratories has developed a spoon using the stabilizing technology for Parkinson’s victims. Incorporating this stabilizing technology into our proposed idea, it can be integrated with the wireless insulin pump device to make it convenient for the Parkinson’s victims to attach the device. |
