The relaxation of diamagnetic magnetization in Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O x and YBa 2 Cu 3 O y single crystals is studied in the temperature range 4.2 – 80 K in the magnetic field H = O, after the crystals have been subjected to fields of 2.5 and 6 T, respectively. The external magnetic field was perpendicular to the a – b plane of the crystals. The remanent magnetization M r in both crystals is found to decrease logarithmically with time t (with the exception of the results in the temperature range 20 – 25 K for the bismuth crystal). The activation energy for motion of flux lines U o is found to be − 10 – 15 meV ( T T > 20 K) for the bismuth crystal. For the yttrium crystal U o ≈ 100 – 120 meV at T ≤ 70 K. These results are discussed in terms of the thermally activated flux motion model. |
