Popis: Despite continuing claims of ineffectiveness and cries for significant educational reform, programs in U.S. high schools remained relatively constant throughout the twentieth century. The latest promise of innovation, block scheduling, has generated significant questions regarding effectiveness and change. Outcomes of a study involving more than 2,000 teachers are discussed with regard to the growing need for sustained in-service preparation in districts moving to the block and the continuing need for research on the effectiveness of block scheduling.
