The article describes a optical method of measuring macro geometry of body parts for designing wearable devices such as smart watches, sensor supports mounted on arms. Typical precision achieved was 0.1 mm for measuring distances between 2 points marked on a test subject at a distance of 0.5 m. The system utilizes blue light (400 nm) used with photo luminescent materials placed on surface of a object registered by a camera with 600 nm low-pass filter connected to a computer which is running a program for image recognition designed for this task. |
