Popis: | Encephalopathy is a term to characterize a constellation of symptoms and signs reflecting a generalized disturbance of brain function. There are many causes of encephalopathy, but metabolic causes are reversible. Most of the drug-induced encephalopathies are reversible if the drug is withdrawn. Some of the drug-induced encephalopathies are secondary to metabolic disturbances induced by the drugs. Drugs associated with encephalopathy are discussed in this chapter. Several drugs are associated with hepatic encephalopathy. The pathomechanism and management of drug-induced hepatic encephalopathy is discussed. |
