Popis: | We present inelastic neutron scattering experiments of the crystal field transitions and on the temperature dependence of the quasi-elastic line performed on polycrystalline samples of CeCu2. In addition we present specific heat measurements which show that the magnetic entropy reaches at TN only 2 3 of the usual theoretical value. This is due to the screening of the magnetic moments by the Kondo effect. We have also performed thermal expansion measurements from 4.2 K to room temperature yielding two minima which can be explained on the basis of the crystal field level scheme as deduced from the neutron scattering experiments. |
