Popis: | This article explores the messages and meaning of the exhibit "Unfinished Business-Juvenile Justice" at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum. The first part is written from the perspective of the museum's director, and proposes a critical, historical approach to understanding the emancipatory potential of museums. The practical aspects of these ambitions and the participatory power of the exhibit are explored in the second part, told from the curator's stance. The third part explores the potential role of museums in transforming social relations and is told from the perspective of a public safety scholar, who also works as a museum-based urban anthropologist. |
