Popis: | The formation of the plasma sheath is studied in collisional, magnetized, low pressure plasma with tilted magnetic field. The dynamics of the ions are studied for the three components of velocity whereas the scalar variables are considered one dimensional. The collision parameter is varied significantly and an analogy with the electrostatic case is discussed. The model provides the plasma profiles for a wide variation of the magnetic field strength and the tilting angle. An analytic criterion for the sheath formation is also put forward and it is seen to be more complex than the usual collisional electrostatic sheath. The magnetic field is found to play a key role in the space charge deposition. Considering the fluid equations for the ions and describing the electrons as Boltzmann retains the monotonic variation of the ion density. Comments are made on the sheath thickness and the disappearance of the Debye sheath. |
