Popis: | Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) with biventricular pacing has been recently explored as an adjunctive support to drugs to treat symptoms in patients with advanced heart failure (HF) (NYHA class III-IV), dilated cardiomyopathy (left ventricular end-diastolic diameter > 60 mm), ventricular conduction disturbances (left bundle branch block with QRS duration > 120–150 ms). Improvements in functional capacity and quality of life have been proven in two randomized trials (PATH-CHF, MUSTIC) and in some observational studies (Insync Study, Insync Italian Registry) [1–5]. |
