When the rabbits are artificially carried into acute hypoproteinaemia by blood-letting 1/5 of the total blood, the liver cells decrease in size and plastosomes transform into thick short or corpulent granules, 1hr. after the letting of blood. This tendency is also recognized 3hrs. later, but at 6hrs. it revives mostly and at 12hrs. the cell images return completely to the normal ones. When blood-letting 1/10 of the total blood daily, is continued for 5 days, the plastosomes of the liver cells show a transformation similar to the above case (1/5 amounts). But the transformation of pls. of the latter are somewhat slighter than the former and it continues longer for the revival of this transformation is not complete even 24hrs. after the blood-letting.At all events, it is clear that the plastosomes of the liver cells transform into thick short rod or corpulent granules after blood-letting and this tendency is quite identical with that which followed the non-protein feeding. It is believed that the plastosomes of the liver cells can be transformed into giant granules under condition of hypoproteinaemia, regardless of acute or chronic ones. |
