This paper presents a rotor-flux-oriented control of a single-phase induction motor. Because of the asymmetry of the main and the auxiliary windings the mathematic model was studied in advance. The objective of this study is to make possible to control the speed and the torque of the motor in different conditions. This type of control is common for three-phase induction motors, but is not generally used for single-phase motors. As this type of motor is large used in home appliances and in places where the three-phase power input is not present, an accurate control of the parameters is necessary. Several parameters are analyzed, such as electromagnetic torque, rotor flux and speed. The results of the simulation are presented with the graphs of the analyzed parameters. In the graphs the reference and the calculated parameters are compared. The response time of the vector controller is very short thanks to the correct parameters of the PID's controllers. The results are discussed and can be used in further studies. |
