Popis:	Ground dried whole mussels “as harvested” were found to contain 34.2% calcium. “As harvested” refers to the mussels together with small amounts of empty shells, sand, and other debris. When substituted for ground limestone in rations for broiler type males and rations for Red × Rock sex-linked laying hens, the mussels were found to be a good source of calcium for bone formation and egg shell formation, respectively.
