Popis: | Chronological records and sedimentation rates of coastal sediment cores from different aquatic environments of NE Mediterranean are reported. 210Pbex and 137Cs vertical profiles determined by means of gamma-ray spectrometry were utilized for the radiometric dating of the sediment cores. Four sound 210Pb-based models were implemented, verified by 137Cs radiochronology and any other available time-mark. The results exhibited high sedimentation rates due to dynamic environmental conditions in comparison with other systems from the same study area, while the applicability of the dating models is discussed. In addition, estimated 137Cs inventories and 210Pbex fluxes are provided as baseline information for sedimentation studies. |
