UV spectrophotometric analysis for method development and validation of Beclofen

Popis: Baclofen is a γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) close derivative which is primarily used in the treatment of spastic movement disorder. Estimation and determination of drug in any biological fluid, bulk and pharmaceutical formulation is important for safety, quality and therapeutics purpose which can be estimated by various methods including UV-visible spectroscopy, HPLC, colorimetry, solvent melting method etc. The main objective of this study was to develop and validate new UV-visible spectroscopy method for estimation of baclofen in HCL and phosphate buffer as per ICH guidelines. The UV spectroscopy method for the estimation of Baclofen was successfully prepared and validated with percentage recovery in the range of 97.41 – 102.62 %. The developed method was found to be precise, accurate, rugged and robust after evaluating the validation parameters.
