To make regional anesthesia work in an environment where increasing pressure is exerted to do more procedures in less time, providers strive to find new ways to increase the speed of anesthetic delivery. This article reviews the additives and manipulations that have been tried to facilitate the onset of peripheral nerve block, epidural anesthesia, intravenous regional anesthesia, and peribulbar block. |
