The calorimetric determination of the thermochemical properties and the phase diagram of mixtures of cellulose nitrate with dibutyl phthalate

Popis: The heat capacity of cellulose nitrate-dibutyl phthalate mixtures has been measured in the 4–370°K range, as well as the enthalpy of component mixing over the entire composition range at 298°K. The isotherms for enthalphy, entropy and Gibbs energy of mixing were calculated as functions of composition. The change in chemical potential of the ester during mixing and its solubility were found. The enthalpy of mixing is negative whereas the entropy is positive.
