Popis:	There is progressive airflow limitation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Though it is evaluated by spirometry it requires good cooperation and maximal effort by the subject. Forced oscillatory technique FOT offers a simple technique to investigate the mechanical properties of the respiratory system. The oscillation in airflow and pressure help in estimation of mechanical impedence of the respiratory system. FOT provides information about lung mechanics that is not available from spirometry.
