Popis: A SERIES of earthquakes started in the central Sudan on October 9, 1966, and was reported to be continuing into April 1967. Because the earthquakes occurred in a relatively stable part of the African land mass1 away from the unstable belt of the East African and Red Sea Rift Systems, and because of the sinistral strike-slip fault movement which was associated with the strongest shock, they are of great interest.
