Pain is a complex experience and perception in children is influenced by physiological, psychological, behavioural, and developmental factors. Post-operative pain can even result in reluctance to seek dental care in the future. Pre-emptive analgesia, which involves administering pain-relieving medication before surgery, aims to reduce pain perception during and after the procedure. This systemic review aims to assess the effectiveness of pre-emptive analgesia in children undergoing primary tooth extractions. |
