| Popis: | The morphology and distribution of Cirsium foliosum (Hook.) DC. and C. drummondii T. & G. are described. The chromosome number of both species is 2n = 34. The range of both species lies almost entirely in western Canada, extending into the northwestern United States only to approximately 43° N. Many authors have misinterpreted these species, placing C. drummondii and several other species in synonymy of C. foliosum. It is held that C. foliosum is distinct from all other taxa. |
