GLC and other physico-chemical methods have been used to study and to establish the composition and structure of the products of trimethylsilylized hydrolytic polycondensation of methyltrichlorosilane (MTCSi). 1,3-dimethyl-1,3-bis-(trimethylsiloxy) cyclodisiloxane and three polycyclic substances, not yet described in the literature, have been isolated. The effects of the solvents, the temperature and the pH of the reaction mixture on the soluble products of the MTCSi hydrolytic polycondensation have been studied. |
