Popis: Coaching psychology (and coaching generally) perceives itself, and wishes to be seen as, an activity that is widely valued. To do so, it has mimicked many of the features of other activities perceived of as being highly valued: the traditional professions. A key influence in the development of coaching has been status anxiety. This paper considers how this might be influencing the development of coaching psychology.
