Popis: This chapter reviews a line of inquiry carried out in the last decade by researches from the Laboratory of Cognition and Communication at UNAM, which analyses the role of dialogic interactions on the development of literacy in Mexican primary schools children. The bulk of research on dialogic teaching-and-learning has traditionally focused on knowledge domains such as logical reasoning, mathematics and sciences, and fewer investigations have addressed the role of dialogic interactions between experts and novices and among peers in the domain of literacy. In this context, the present chapter aims to establish much-needed bridges between contemporary dialogic perspectives on teaching-and-learning and recent research which analyses literacy, conceived as a situated sociocultural practice.
