Popis: | The method of thermal analysis is used to study the effect of starting material, commercial hematite prepared by sulfate or chloride technology, on the processes that occur in the course of thermal treatment of the IK-42-1 monolith honeycomb catalyst for ammonia oxidation. It is shown that the strength of monoliths depends on the nature of starting material and the quality of monoliths (the number of monoliths with cracks and their stability in thermal cycling). It is shown that the conditions of thermal treatment (continuous or stepwise temperature increase) affect the quality of monoliths. A stepwise increase in temperature during thermal treatment of the catalyst (irrespectively of the starting material), especially at the stage of preliminary calcination, makes it possible to obtain a high yield (up to 90%) of monoliths without cracks that stand at least 10 thermal cycles. The optimal regime for the thermal treatment of the monolith honeycomb catalyst is determined. |
