Popis: It is well established now that arterial chemoreceptor structure and mode of action are altered in primary systemic hypertension (Alho et al., 1984; Barer et al., 1987; Habeck, 1986; Habeck et al., 1987; Heath et al., 1982; Lange, 1962). In both humans and animals suffering from this disease abnormal autonomic nervous and cardiorespiratory reactions were found when the arterial chemoreceptors were stimulated (Barer et al., 1987; Huckstorf et al., 1987; Przybylski et al., 1982; Quies et al., 1983; Sofola and Egbe, 1981; Somers et al., 1988; Tafil-Klawe et al., 1985; Tiedt, 1987; Trzebski et al., 1982; Vlachogianni et al., 1989).
