Popis:	An efficient 20 Gbit/s all-optical 4/spl times/4 WDM packet switch with four wavelength channels per fibre is experimentally demonstrated. The switch uses high-speed interferometric wavelength converters and semiconductor optical amplifier-gates as key elements and introduces negligible penalty of /spl sim/0.2 dB.
