Popis: | The newly discovered phenomena of high temperature superconductivity can be used for certain revolutionary applications. One such application involves neurocomputing. Based on a digital architecture, high performance, neural systems can be developed. The heart of the proposed signal processor is an ultrafast multiplexed multiplier accumulator (MMA). In addition to conventional known devices, a new three terminal hybrid superconductor/semiconductor resonant tunnel transistor is the key building block of the MMA. From the materials and processing point of view, the ideal fabrication scheme involves the deposition of epitaxial dielectrics, epitaxial superconductors and epitaxial semiconductors on Si wafers. Metal organic chemical vapor deposition based on rapid isothermal processing is ideally suited for the deposition of superconductor and semiconductor layers. |
