Popis:	In the work there was followed the evolution of the etiotropic treatment of shigellosis patients and there were outlined main principles of therapy of this pathology. With taking into account the variability of the causative agent, the use of fluoroquinolones with the etiotropic purpose in the 90s of the last century was justified. The dynamics of shigellosis infection in the Russian Federation over the past 15 years is shown against the background of their use.
