Popis: | A spin linear chain with antiferromagnetic nearest-neighbor interaction is considered. The coupling constants of each spin with the right and left neighbors are different. Within the Bulaevskii model, the magnetic specific heat is calculated as a function of temperature for different alternation parameters. It is shown that the temperature dependence of the specific heat has two regimes. In the first one, the temperature is lower than half the band gap; in this case, in the low-temperature limit, C ∝ T-1 exp(−Δ/kBT). In the second regime, the temperature exceeds half the band gap; in this case, we approximately have C ∝ T. |
