Popis: | This paper addresses the numerical analysis of the elasto-plastic dynamic behavior of earth dams. A local-global finite element method is introduced. The method combines local and global shape functions. It has the flexibility of the finite element method and the cost effectiveness of the Galerkin-Ritz method. The method is illustrated by an application to the Long Valley Earth Dam. |
