The thermodynamic properties of 1,4,5,8-naphthalene-tetracarboxylic dianhydride, poly(o-amino) naphthoyleneimide, and polynaphthoylene benzimidazole, i.e. isobaric heat capacity in the 13–330 K range, the enthalpy of combustion of the crystalline ionomer and the glassy polymers, are studied by adiabatic and isothermal calorimetry methods. The enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs function for the polycondensation of 1,4,5,8-naphthalene-tetracarboxylic dianhydride with 3,3′,4,4′-tetraaminodiphenyl ester and for polyheterocyclization of the poly (o-amino)naphthoylene imide formed into polynaphthoylene benzimidazole are calculated for the 0–330 K range from the data obtained. |
