Popis: Investigations of interaction in simple model systems are of fundamental importance for understanding of the mechanisms of molecular recognition and biopolymer functions. Studies of interaction between components of nucleic acids and proteins on monomer level allow us to evaluate the role of particular atomic groups in protein- nucleic acid complex formation and, therefore, predict a variation in complex stability caused by a change in a biopolymer primary structure. The studies of association of nucleic acid bases and amino acids have been performed both experimentaly by mass spectrometric method and by computational methods. The joint use of these two groups of methods emables us to construct atom-molecular models of biopolymer fragments and their complexes. The method of atom-atom potential functions have been used as the method of calculations of nucleic acid bases and amino acids interactions.
