Popis: Active hydrogen in a variety of organic compounds has been exchanged for tritium from excess tritiated isopropyl alcohol by dissolving each compound in the alcohol and then evaporating this solvent. The measured radioactivity taken on by most compounds agreed well with that expected from the number of active hydrogens in the compound and the known radioactivity of the solvent. The exchange technique should be satisfactory for determining the active hydrogen in compounds of unknown structure. (auth)
