Popis:	The workgroup discussed the use of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in monitoring and managing patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer. Periodic monitoring provides an opportunity for more timely diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer with the potential to decrease morbidity and mortality from this disease. The workgroup agreed on several basic principles and recommendations for specified patient groups.
