Popis: Physician, writer and Spiritualist, Arthur Conan Doyle’s name remains synonymous with the most famous fictional detective in the world, Sherlock Holmes. Holmes, along with his sidekick, Dr. John Watson, appeared in fifty-six short stories and four novels, which have since spawned a long list of film, stage and television adaptations, as well as a host of derivative works that draw on the original stories in a variety of ways. In 1934 ‘The Sherlock Holmes Society’ (London) and the ‘Baker Street Irregulars’ (New York) were established, dedicated to the study and celebration of all things Sherlockian.
