Popis:	Summary Identical twins are presented who had similar complications of duodenal ulcer and calculous gall bladder disease. One subject was treated with vagotomy and pyloro plasty while the other was treated with subtotal gastric resection. Cholecystectomy was performed in each patient at the time of surgical treatment of duodenal ulcer. Metabolic balance studies showed a defect in fat absorption in the patient with subtotal gastrectomy. The latter patient was followed for 5 years until his death, which was attributed to coronary thrombosis. The patient subjected to vagotomy is alive 10 years following vagotomy and pyloroplasty.
