This paper summarizes the latest Thales Alenia Space activities in the frame of wideband Multi-port Power Amplifiers (MPA): the successful completion of the performance validation tests of a space representative 8x8 Ku-band Multi-Port Amplifier (MPA) demonstrator over 2GHz bandwidth. The demonstrator’s test campaign has been carried out to fully validate wideband concept and offer well secured solutions to short-term commercial programs with flexible resources needs; in particular for applications requiring a good matching between traffic variations over satellite life time and the corresponding required power per beam allocation and flexible frequency plan per beam. Main design drivers and advanced equipment developments of the demonstrator were already presented two years ago in this conference. |
