Popis: | In this study the capability of motor oils to protect engines from electrochemical corrosion is focused on. The kinetics of the process of corrosion are tested by the polarization resistance method. As the rate of corrosion is dependent on the thermal state, temperature is recorded. Complex variations in temperature, due to many things-water circulating in cooling jacket, formation of film of moisture on the machine --are shown. An increase in the rate of corrosion of the sensing elements corresponds to an increase in corrosion-damaged area of parts, and so characterizes a change in the protective property of oils. Possible use of this polar resistance method is suggested. |
