A novel voltage mitigation method for high power applications

Popis: In this paper novel voltage mitigation method is introduced to protect sensitive loads due to under voltage or by over current. It will be able to compensate voltage sags on critical loads dynamically. It consists of voltage source inverter, injection transformer, filter and energy storage device. The efficiency of the mitigation method depends on the efficiency of the control techniques involved in switching the inverter. There are many types of control techniques being used for mitigation voltage sags and their capabilities to withstand short duration, shallow sags, in addition to its tolerances to phase jumps, a mitigation technique with low passed , fast response and simple controller could be configured to full fill the voltage restoration requirements. The principle cause of all voltage sags is the short duration increasing current and a mitigation technique is proposed for sag detection and quantification for the sensitive loads which operates at low/high voltage. A different approach has been designed and controls to counter measure voltage disturbances for sensitive loads. The simulation results are presented using the MATLAB simulink toolbox, which shows the closed loop regulator to maintain the load voltage within acceptable levels of voltage variation using transformer coupled H-bridge converters
