In this presentation a general description of hot rolling strip mill is given. The problem of thickness irregularities was discussed and a reasonable very cheap open loop solution for such problem with the local capabilities was discussed after successful execution and operation. Closed loop control methods was developed for this kind of mills but the expenses needed to implement this development is at least nowadays beyond υhe capabi-lities of the company. So it was arranged for this cheap solution. |
