Popis: | Antifibrinolytic therapy constitutes an effective means to control or reduce bleeding and to limit or avoid blood transfusion in current medical practice. During the past 30 years it has been used as an established antidote in patients treated by thrombolytic agents and experiencing bleeding complications. Antifibrinolytic drugs have also been prescribed in patients developing clinical hyperfibrinolysis. However, use of these products has been limited to very specific situations involving small numbers of patients. |
