Popis:	The development of an efficient asymmetric dihydroxylation of 1,6-dibromodiene afforded a chiral biselectrophilic diol that displayed highly useful reactivity in water, as demonstrated by a three-step, two-pot asymmetric synthesis of a highly functionalized tetrahydrofuran.
