Influence of annealing on structural, magnetic and transport properties of melt spun ribbons of Co-Ni-Al alloy

Popis: | In this work we studied influence of heat treatment on structural, magnetic and transport properties of melt spun ribbons of Co 38 Ni 33 Al 29 Heusler alloy. Investigation of as-prepared ribbons revealed that they have a two-phase (β + γ) structure and are magnetically ordered at room temperature. Measurements of magnetic and transport properties showed that the as-prepared ribbons undergoes martensitic transformation at martensite start temperature M s ∼ 120 K. Annealing of the as-prepared ribbons resulted in disappearance of the martensitic transformation and suppression of magnetic properties. These changes in the physical properties of the melt spun ribbons were attributed to annealing-induced growth of the γ phase. Measurements of Hall effect indicated that dominant carriers in both as-prepared and annealed ribbons are hole-like. |
