Popis:	Aspidosperma polyneuron, a representative of Apocynaceae family, is a species of great economic importance for the forestry sector. It is under a serious risk of extinction in Brazil and Venezuela (Figure 1A). Therefore, there is a great need of a germplasm conservation program for this species. This species grows at the Semidecidous Stational Forest being listed as rare and endangered in the State of Parana, Brazil, where it is a native tree (Hatschbach and Ziller, 1995).
