Popis:	The widespread interest in the antibacterial effects of detergents is evident from the increasing number of publications dealing with their action. Of special interest are the studies of Baker, Harrison and Miller1-2 on the inhibitory and germicidal action of various synthetic detergents. They found that the bacteriostatic and germicidal action of the cationic detergents was much greater than that of the anionic agents. In view of their findings a study of the comparative therapeutic action of these two classes of detergents appeared to be of interest. For this purpose we have used the chick embryo technic, which has proven successful for the in vivo testing of various therapeutic agents.
