Popis: This communication, the design and simulating of a single-band printed antenna with compact size is introduced. The proposed structure is applied as a straightforward methodology to achieve a single-band operation. At first, a microstrip to taper transition is implemented to provide the input impedance of 50- ohms. Apart from this, a U shape metallic patch followed by a semicircular patch is used at the top of the antenna to obtain the required resonant frequency. Additionally, other metallic rectangular patches are implemented on the bottom part of the designed antenna, it gives the better impedance matching of the desired resonant. Besides that, the trapezoidal slot etched on the ground part, which provides better radiation characteristics. The simulated resonant frequency generated at 3.5 GHz, it satisfies the bandwidth of WiMAX applications. The simulated results show a 10-dB impedance bandwidth (IBW) of 170 MHz (4.85 %) at the resonant frequency. The simulated gain and efficiency are obtained of the antenna 4.38 dBi and 88.34 % at 3.5 GHz, respectively. This antenna to be found as a more compact size, as reported in the literature review.
